Ft. Lauderdale fishing was a bit of an adventure today. The wind continues to blow and seas are 4 to 5 feet, but the fish are biting. Caught little Phillip his first Sailfish today… Catch and Release! We also caught Kingfish and Dorados. That's him in the picture holding his biggest one for the camera. He got sick after landing his Sailfish, let it fly, and got right back to fishing. The Dolphin today were between 80 and 150 feet (on top of and just offshore of the reef line).Trolling was good, but live-baiting was the ticket for Sailfishing. This is a trend that we will see more and more as we head towards the winter months. Ft Lauderdale fishing was about big boats today, as conditions kept the smaller boats at the dock. The forecast is for diminishing seas, and that is OK by us.
Hopefully the good fishing will hold as the wind dies, but there is very little current. The strong fishing we feel is basically the result of the continued windy conditions, and catches may suffer somewhat if there is a less than ideal combination of lessening wind and minimal current.
