We have some really good news here in regards to Hurricane Irene and her effects on our Ft. Lauderdale fishing weather. Mother Nature did us a big favor and steered Irene well offshore of our Ft. Lauderdale beaches and although she devastated parts of the Bahamas we hardly knew she was offshore. We could see the rain way out at the horizon but we got essentially no rain and very little wind from the storm. Flat calm seas and an occasional gust of westerly wind into the 20s. Fishing was fair at best as our anticipated increase in fishing action went out the window so to speak as Irene passed by too far to the East to prompt a good bite and didn’t really stir thing up here. It has picked up here as of the last couple of days and we have been able to get some decent bites and put some fish in the box. Pictured are Landon and his lovely bride hailing out of Oklahoma and their half days catch on a Ft. Lauderdale fishing charter.
