Today we had Dave out of Weston, Fl. and his friends aboard to try their hand at a little bit of Ft. Lauderdale deep-sea fishing. We began the charter by fishing on a deep wreck and were rewarded with 3 nice Amberjacks. We also tried our luck at a shallow spot and caught a keeper sized Mutton Snapper and an African Pompano. The lack of current today allowed us to fish light line and minimum weight so we went with the spinning rods and the result was a good slugfest, especially with the Greater Amberjack. After the bottom fishing we decided to troll and the result was a limit of King Mackerel and a bunch of “Bomber” (full sized) Bonitos. Pictured is a typical summertime Kingfish. Pretty day, a little warm due to flat calm sea conditions and zero wind, but a successful day of Ft Lauderdale deep-sea fishing. |
