 Ft. Lauderdale deep sea fishing. A great way to get out on the ocean, have a few beers and catch some rays and some fish too. Harry and the boys out of Long Island said that was the plan and that is the way it played out. Beautiful weather and calm seas and we all had a great time. Caught a few Kings and Bonitos trolling down to the south. Tried live baiting on a couple of wrecks and caught Snapper and a small Cuda. Nice blue water at the edge of the reef and a decent current so we decided to fly the kites and fish live baits on the top and also off the down downrigger. The result was a really nice Cobia as you can see by the picture with our proud angler “Godzilla”. Godzilla was actually our only guy not off the Island but actually from Arizona, and he held his own and was a lot of fun and caught the fish of the day(he did have some NY East side blood). Sent the whole gang next door for a fresh fish dinner and they still left Chris and I a big bag of Cobia each for our families. My wife made ours over a bed of rice with a fresh Mango sauce made with a touch of Mint and Lime. A fitting end to a good time with some good guys out on the ocean to grab a few rays, some Ft. Lauderdale deep sea fishing and a few cold ones to boot. |
