We continue to have good results here on our Ft. Lauderdale fishing charters. We are spending a lot of time and effort directed at Wahoo and have had good success. Never a commonly caught fish, but this time of year it is a sensible choice to fish for them here. We also catch them incidentally when we are fishing primarily for Kingfish as Wahoo like to get in along the edges of Kingfish schools. Most of our bites are coming in 125 to 150 of water, A live Bonito is the ticket for a Wahoo when live baiting. Most of our trolling bites (dead bait) bites are on the deep fished lines or on a surface line fished way behind the boat. We are catching Kings as well and also an occasional Sail in these same depths. Congratulations to Jim, Fred and Betty on their Sailfish release. Thanks guys, it was fun for us too. Pictured is a colorful Wahoo showing his mouthful of teeth (that would be the fish, not one of our mates, Lawrence). A Ft. Lauderdale fishing charter with Wahoo on the menu is a good choice right now. |
