 Fort Lauderdale fishing report

December is here and we are looking forward to cooler weather and the effects it will have on our Fort Lauderdale fishing charters. We yes, we will still troll, but less and less. The big name on the trolling ticket will be Wahoo. Lots of Wahoo will be taken and some of these fish will top 40 pounds. We will catch them incidentally while fishing for Kingfish, and we will also fish them as a primary target. We will also catch some Wahoo while live baiting. The presence of Wahoo and big Kingfish will cause us to add a short trace of wire leader to our live bait rigs to help keep their razor teeth off the mono leaders. And we will be doing a lot of live baiting. Tinker Mackerel, Bullet Bonito, Ballyhoo, and Goggle Eyes are the primary live baits for successful Fort Lauderdale deep sea fishing charters. Anything of any size (and sometimes surprisingly little guys with big appetites) will strike these baits. Evert cold front now holds the possibility of a push of Sailfish thru our area. Big Kingfish, Wahoo, Sailfish and also some good sized Sharks will be available. You gotta love it. We fill up very quickly from around the 23rd thru Jan 5th.
