The warm weather is here and Fort Lauderdale fishing is beginning to take off ( as expected). Amberjacks are continuing to bite well on the deep sea fishing wrecks. We are catching some good sized Kingfish on live bait (as pictured here with James, Master Angler). Smaller Kingfish are biting on the trolled deep bait presentations. Blackfin Tuna continue to be available in approximately 200 to 400 feet of water. We typically catch several per trip. Sailfish continue to be scattered and iffy at best so we have not been directly targeting them. Sharks have been a bit tough lately due to a South current. We have caught a few but it is sometimes a long wait between bites. Hammerheads and Silky’s only. When the current returns to a Northerly flow this should improve. Spinner Sharks are here but they are not biting/possibly mating? They will approach a bait and then fade away. Hopefully they remain in our Fort Lauderdale fishing area as sooner or later they are going to have to eat something/ hopefully our offering! Hopefully tomorrow. Snapper are biting well and we catch at least a Dorado or two per trip.
