 Our Fort Lauderdale Fishing charters have been continuing to allow us to catch some nice sized Mahi-Mahi. We have caught some Kings, Wahoos and Sails on a regular basis. On one charter we actually caught six big Sailfish for Tim and John who are regulars here. But the most reliable species by far continues to be the Mahi-Mahi. As has been the norm we are seeing them in water anywhere from 100 to 600 feet. Find the weeds, baitfish and some bird activity and chances are things will begin to happen on most days. Very few small fish. Still very few really big ones for that matter either, but really nice sized fish traveling in small groups through the area. We did have one fish of around 30 pounds but he was an exceptionally large one much bigger than most. Even though we are fishing on a full moon they are quick to bite. Sometimes on a full moon they can be (as we have stated before) “fickle”, as in frustrating to get them to bite. Not so with most of these fish. Very hungry and aggressive. This Mahi bite has been going on now for some time and with that east wind continuing to blow as we mentioned in previous reports these Mahi-Mahi hopefully will continue to bite for us.
