Our Fort Lauderdale fishing charters are producing a lot of action. In addition to a few Sailfish and Bonito on the inshore reefs we are enjoying a good run of Kings in our area. Most of these Kings are up on top of the third reef and also in the trough between the outside (3rd) and 2nd reefs. There are a lot of Kings in these depths and it has made for some good action for our clients and as you can see by the picture, their kids. We take a lot of kids out on charters and while most everybody wants to catch that big one it is important to “bend the rod” so to speak and get some fish on the end of the line for the younger set. That is where these Kings are a great target fish and we can often catch a good bunch of them in a short while and keep the gang happy and interested.
As I mentioned there are some Sailfish passing through and most of these fish seem to be inside of 110 feet of water. When we target these fish with live bait we have been able on most days to get a chance or two at these fish. April Sailfish are typically fully grown and make for a good fight. Large Amberjacks are moving onto the deep-water wrecks and the inshore reefs and structure are getting stacked up with smaller ones and also Banded Rudderfish (also a member of the Jack family). Vermillion Snapper season is open and they bite well on most days. Our Fort Lauderdale fishing charters are right on schedule for April fishing, one of our favorite months here for offshore fishing in South Florida.
