 Fort Lauderdale daily fishing report.

Fort Lauderdale fishing can be great to some, even on a short day. While the request for Sailfish was asked for, with limited time we began trolling and never stopped. When the action is good, it sometimes can divert your attention to what you can have as opposed to what isn’t available.
Sailfish fishing had slowed due to a south or no current pattern. Only a few had been seen the last few days and with our very excited guests on board, we headed out for a mere 3 hours. The sea buoy provided the first bite; a nice Kingfish and we were off. A few more circles and a few more bits and soon, within 40 minutes, we had our limit in Kingfish and went looking for something else.
Off shore of us less than ½ mile was some scattered weed. While very tough to fish, trying to keep the baits clean and clear, when they were, we caught a single Dolphin. Nice sized, around 8 pounds, we began working the area, cleaning the baits and continued our good luck. Again, with the baits fouled most the time, we still managed 5 Dolphin in a short time and our time was up. We headed home back to our dock.
It doesn’t always take long to put a bunch of nice fish in the box. It turned out to be a great day with some great people. Welcome aboard, Peter and Kim.
