 Fort Lauderdale fishing boats are encountering good numbers of Tunas (and Bonito) on our offshore trips. These fish are as shallow as 70 feet on out into 300 feet of water. They are biting surface and deep lines fished with Sea witch/strip bait combinations.We save the Bonitos for the strip baits we cut from them (about a dozen baits out of each fish) and the Tunas go on the grill. Some Kingfish biting but they are tough due to the moon phase.
Sailfish in on the reef the last few days, but not in good numbers.
