Our Fort Lauderdale fishing report today offers a positive outlook for our fishing area. Kingfish continue to be available on the offshore edge of the outer reefline. Scattered Bonitos mixed with the Kings. Barracudas. Saw several free jumping Sailfish but sadly no strikes from them for the boats today. Maybe tomorrow they will show some interest in our spread. Once again a lot of baitfish in our Ft. Lauderdale fishing area. Very good sign for an upbeat in our fishing. One baitfish we really like to see is the small immature Bonito, which we call a “Bullet”. Lots of these guys around today and our next trip will certainly involve several live “Bullets” fished from the outriggers. These are great baits and can result in great gamefish opportunities. Every gamefish available to us loves the small Bonitos and we are going to put some of those little Bonitos in front of them for the next few trips and also the next several months. These baitfish give us a lot of mobility as we can “drag” them around and cover a lot of area to locate the sweet spots. Weather is Chamber of Commerce perfect. 75 for the low and 84 was the high. Chances are our next Fort Lauderdale fishing report will have an impressive catch as a direct result of these “Bullet” Bonitos and great conditions. |
