Fort Lauderdale fishing charter
Today we had Scott and his dad out of Windamere, Fl on our Fort Lauderdale fishing charter. Kingfish were biting very well for us to the south of our inlet. Scattered Bonito
were scattered within the same area. The best depth was 180 feet. This deeper depth with a congregation of fish is typical for slick calm summer days, which is exactly what we encountered. We easily caught our limit of Kings. Scott wanted to try for something larger so we began trying for a Sailfish or Shark. A couple of live baits for Sails and a couple of fresh Kings cut as shark baits and we were on plan “B”. Scott caught a Sandbar shark of about 150#. We next moved to deeper water in an effort to catch a Hammerhead, a fish he really wanted to get hooked-up to. Unfortunately no Hammerheads caught today by any of the boats and although we tried our hardest we couldn’t get one into the baits. No Sails today by the fleet either. Good time, good overall fishing, but only one Shark (released @ boat side by 1st. mate Andrew).
