 Fort Lauderdale charter fishing/April 16-18
Fort Lauderdale charter fishing continued to be less than perfect weather wise. An easterly flow has left us with the choppy offshore conditions for a week now. Certainly not too rough but it is getting a little old. Not so bad as we have had to shorten any charters, but a few folks have had a bout with a bad stomach. Those who take a motion sickness pill the night before if they are concerned generally fare well and stay the course.
Fishing is good, but getting better. Now good numbers of smaller Kingfish have moved in and we easily caught our limit this cloudy/misty morning (18th) with our AT&T clients. Full grown Bomber Bonito rounded out our catch. Saturday had a focus (for us) on Sailfish and we managed several shots at fish. Congrats to Dan who lives right here in town on his first. Still only an occasional Dorado. Forget the Deep Sea (Gulfstream) fishing charter for Swordfish/still too choppy way out there/and fishing is really good within 1 to 4 miles offshore anyway. Put that Fort Lauderdale Swordfish charter on the back burner for a few more days as it’s really too choppy on the Swordfish grounds. We are staying closer to shore and taking advantage of the good fishing there.
