 Fort Lauderdale fishing report
Week of February 28 through March 6, 2010
We are publishing only one Fort Lauderdale fishing report this week. So many charters/so little time…..We caught about a half dozen Sailfish during the week. Four were inside 200 feet of water, the others in 250. A couple were incidental catches while trolling for King Mackerel and Wahoo. Very few Wahoo the past week and the Kings were erratic. The wreck fishing is strong with Amberjacks to 60 pounds. Live bait has been the key here. Large sharks (Hammerheads mostly) are here. Tiger Sharks
taken and pictured is a Thresher caught that weighed approximately 600 plus pounds (released). Offshore winds have made for comfortable fishing conditions in our area but it is almost rough out in the Gulfstream. Warmer weather on the way and temps nearing 80 late in the week.
