Fort Lauderdale fishing for Swordfish can offer a deep sea fishing charter that will bring a nice fish to gaff that is also at the top of the “good to eat” list for many a fishing affectionado. Swordfish are a complicated fish and some trips unfortunately end with no fish in the boat whether it be a night or day charter despite our best efforts. These are great fish and even a smaller one is welcome as the list of persons who have landed a Swordie is quite short when compared to other billfishes. Pictured is Austyn who trecked over here from England to try for one. 49 inch fork length and about a seven plus foot fish in overall length. Above the Federal length criteria and therefor on his way to the cleaning table. The Marlin My Darlin had five bites from the Swordies that night but only this one made it to the boat. That is a poor hook-up ratio but that happens in fishing. The good news is that Capt. TKS was right on the fish and we will certainly revisit those Lat and Long numbers in hope of drawing numerous bites the next time we cruise out to 1100 feet of water in hopes of getting quite possibly the worlds premier saltwater gamefish to take one of our baits. Fort Lauderdale fishing areas are fortunate to be regarded as top notch for Swordfish and while it is not for everybody as it truly specialized fishing, when it happens it is memorable for discriminating anglers, as well as professional crew. Great fish. BAM! Step it up a notch. |
