Fort Lauderdale fishing has offered some really strong reef action which is nice as we have been getting bites as close a 50 feet of water, or about ½ mile from shore. Good fishing and less travel time. Kingfish continue to please and again some of these fish are good sized. Bonito mixed in with these Kings and the trolled deep lines are as usual getting the most attention. The surface baits are getting some attention mostly fished out of the long positions. Those two fellows in the picture are Jeff and his son-in-law Chris. Jeff lives here in Ft. Lauderdale and Chris flew in from NY for their second trip in as many weeks. This was an afternoon charter. Good time and lots of ribbing. Not the time or place for thin skin on this trip. Only one Blackfin Tuna on this trip much to Jeff’s dismay ( and we spent quite some time in deeper water trying) , but he likes Kings and took home a cooler full. The reefline was the place to be today to make the most of the afternoon’s Fort Lauderdale fishing opportunities.
