Deep sea fishing in Fort Lauderdale has had its rewards if you can handle the seas the last few days and most have done just that! Continuing windy conditions as a result of our first "cold front" (all the way down to 65 degrees last night) made for choppy to rough seas. The catch today included Dorado, Blackfin Tuna, Bonito and Sailfish. The windy conditions have the Dorado (Dolphinfish) pushed inside the reef line and they are chasing Ballyhoo schools and showering these baitfish all the way into 40 feet of water. We are also catching these fish on the outside as they move thru our area. Dorado are really a deep-sea fishing target throughout the summer as most fish are typically quite a bit further from shore and require a deep-sea fishing approach that involves covering lots of water. The windy conditions have got these fish "up on the edge" and makes for good fishing conditions near shore. Sailfish are inside as well. Didn't hear of or see any Sharks.
