 Ft Lauderdale charter fishing boats
Saturday, January 9, 2010
On Sat ( the 9th) our Ft. Lauderdale charter fishing boats found schoolie dolphin (Dorado) working south from 200 to 400 feet of water. Capt Mike on the LK and myself worked a school for about two miles as they moved south before the front.
Always kind of fun when you work a bunch of fish with another boat and you take your turn on the fish in an orderly and courteous approach (even if you do have to share the fish in the school!). We both had good catches. Sunday (Jan 10 ) was a lost day as we cancelled our trips due to steady rain, wind, and cold conditions.
This front was a whopper and gave us FL boys a taste of a good wind chill. Late Sunday the rain stopped but it was about 30 degrees F (Felt like?). But what would Monday hold for Ft Lauderdale charter fishing boats? Lower 40s in the morning, warming into the mid 50s, and a steady moderate wind out of the Northwest.
North current and clean water up on the reefs. The conditions we hoped for seemed to be in place………….
BANG. Marlin My Darlin went 10 for 14 on Sailfish bites today. John and Angie hailing out of Texas, and no other anglers. We can hardly wait for tomorrow, and George and his two sons (regular customers out of NY state) will be down early. It will be warm as toast to them.
