 Fort Lauderdale fishing report/ Daily
Saturday, January 30, 2010
Today was once again a good day (Jan 30th) to be out on the water and enjoy a bit of Fort Lauderdale fishing. A cold front is scheduled to change our weather starting tomorrow, and our clients were the management team for Champ Sports (in town for the Pro Bowl). Not too much sunshine today and less in the forecast for the next couple of days.
We were fortunate to enjoy another good day of Fort Lauderdale deep sea fishing. Our catch was four Sailfish and a Great Hammerhead Shark. The bite today was essentially in 150 feet of water and these fish were moving south. Good clean water and a strong north current were once again the main ingredients for a successful fishing charter. Circle hooks on the Sailfish resulted in strong and healthy Sailfish releases @ boat side. The new single hook rule on all (natural fish) shark baits resulted in a very frisky, healthy (and very agitated) Hammerhead release also. We like the new law and had no problem hooking this eight footer on the lone hook. She was (and still is) a handful of dynamite.
Tomorrow we look forward to being the first ones out of the gate, sunshine or not.
