Fort Lauderdale charter fishing report
Want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas before we begin, and here’s the Fort Lauderdale charter fishing report for Dec 22 thru 26th.
We are catching Kingfish in deeper water than is the norm. Many of these fish are in over 200 feet of water, and as usual the bait offering the best results in a Bonito strip fished on each of our two deep trolling lines. The Bonitos we have been catching to make these strip baits are here also and are traveling inshore of the Kingfish and following the edges of the reefs.
We (and the rest of the Ft. Lauderdale fishing fleet) have had mixed results on Sailfish. Productive depths have been from the reef line on out to 350 feet. We have had our best results in about 120 feet.
Amberjacks are on the deep wrecks and a Bullet bonito or Speedo seems to be the key to getting a good sized fish.
