Fishing charters in Fort Lauderdale

Our weather has once again turned nice. Clear skies today and even some slightly cooler days by the weekend. It seems this Fall has been one long heat wave and we locals are looking forward to a break. Basically a flat calm sea this morning and no rain on the horizon. A slight northern current in on the reefs increasing to a very manageable half knot when one gets into 300 to 400 feet, which has been a good depth as it is holding the best numbers of fish.

Our fishing charters in Fort Lauderdale continue to see Sailfish with good regularity. These fish are only about 25 minutes from our dock and very accessible right now. Live baiting and trolling have been drawing strikes and most of the fish in our area right now are full sized adults from 6 1/2 to 7 feet in length. Kingfishing has been erratic but some fat ones are taking live baits along the reefs. A few Wahoo in there also. The Dorado have backed off with this calmer weather but every day continues to hold a chance for them to show up in the spread. Some Skipjack and Blackfin Tuna off the edge and while not large they are fun on lighter tackle.
