 We continue to have good catches deep sea fishing here in Fort Lauderdale. Today we had Kurt and his dad out of Michigan aboard the Marlin My Darlin. This was a big trip for Kurt (17 yrs. old) and his dad as Kurt was footing the bill for the charter, his first go at deep sea fishing, and he chose Fort Lauderdale and the “Marlin My Darlin”. The pressure was on. Nice people and the happy ending was all smiles for everybody ( that includes Andrew and myself). Caught 9 Kingfish, probably a dozen Bonito, and two decent Dorado ( Mai-Mai). Had a nice Hammerhead Shark up on the surface within 25 feet of the boat on a “shark teaser bait” that was out there just for that purpose. Excited and dorsal fin out of the water. an aggressive free swimming shark, up close and personal. Good show by a dangerous shark at boat side. Kurt might to have to dig down and try this deep sea / Fort Lauderdale fishing thing again. He really would love to catch a Wahoo too, and try as we might we couldn’t get one of those on the line for him. |
